Why Christians in Public Service (CIPS)?
Christianity in the public square and in public spaces is becoming increasingly marginalized and Christians serving, working and governing in the public square do so in environments that are at best unwelcoming and at worst hostile. It is good to have a supportive and unique Christ-centered organization providing relevant materials and resources based upon biblical principles; as well as event opportunities for fellowship and professional enhancement. All to provide moral, spiritual and professional support for Christians serving in public spaces.
Christians in Public Service also seeks to provide a safe place for those needing confidential advice and counsel to help quietly resolve personal and/or professional issues before they can cause personal or career-damaging harm. If needed or requested, we will make referrals to licensed Christian counselors for in-depth confidential faith-based professional help.
As mature professionals we understand how any perceived or real character challenge, negative behavior, poor handling of personal, political or workplace situations can and will potentially be used as political ammunition and we work with those wanting help to resolve confidentially, any issue that could one day be used negatively against them.
As Christians we can’t resolve issues as the world does. For us, and particularly for those serving in the public eye, it is paramount that we keep intact our witness by exhibiting Christlike character as we work to resolve difficult issues, work with difficult people and handle with grace, unfair criticism and character assassinations. Our goal is to help those who serve do just that.
As we emerge from the start-up, fledgling phase of growth, we reflect with gratitude upon those who helped lay our foundation; and, look ahead with great anticipation to the continued faithfulness and favor of God as we more effectively serve those whom He has called to serve others.
